What are some free and fun activities to do on a date?

I have been dating for years, and I have gotton tired of spending money or having the guy spend money. I feel like the better things in life are free, so anyone know of some things me and the guy im going on a date should do (I have been thinking about a picnic by the lake by my house...romantic!)
